A phenomenal approach to teaching and coaching you through your training and qualifications. After completing the diploma, I'm extremely excited about continuing and completing the Master's portion of my course. The knowledge, skills, and confidence this course has given me, along with the support in seeking out the practical experience, have been invaluable.

University of Derby is really impressive. It has a great location, excellent facilities, and supportive staff.

I'm based at a lovely modern campus on Kedleston Road. Lots of amenities and it's easy to get around. Staff at the university are very helpful and I'm really enjoying my time here.

As an international student, starting my MSc in Big Data Analytics at the University of Derby was both exciting and nerve-wracking, but I’m really glad I chose it. The support has been great. The lecturers are approachable, always ready to help, and genuinely care about how you’re doing, both academically and personally.

The course is really hands-on and relevant to what’s happening in the real world. I’ve especially enjoyed modules like Business Analytics and Information Visualisation. They’re not just theory-based but also focus on tools and techniques used in the industry. Group projects and discussions keep things practical and engaging, which makes learning more meaningful.

What I’ve really appreciated is how diverse and welcoming the student community is. I’ve made friends from all over the world, and there’s always something going on around campus—from student union elections to casual socials. It helps you feel like you belong, even when you’re far from home.

The university bus service is also a big plus—it’s well organized and has made my commute to campus much easier. It’s one of those little things that make a big difference when you’re juggling a busy schedule.

I didn’t stay in the university halls, but I found a private place that’s been perfect for quiet study and winding down after long days. Friends who are in halls seem to enjoy it, especially for meeting people.

If I could suggest one thing, it would be to have more evening or weekend events aimed at postgrad students—something relaxed to help us connect outside of lectures.

Overall, I feel like I’m learning and growing a lot, not just academically, but personally too. It’s been a genuinely positive experience, and I’d definitely recommend Derby to anyone interested in tech, data, and building a career that makes a real impact.

University of Derby has been both rewarding and an opportunity for growth. The lecturers are supportive, and there is a great mix of both theory work and practical skills. The library offers a diverse range of books and research materials, making all university work much easier for me personally. The communities and societies are vibrant and really helped me feel part of university life. Overall, the university has given me confidence and prepared me academically and personally for the future, and I would recommend it to everyone.

I studied an MSc online with Derby, and it was not what I expected. Far from cold distance learning, I was welcomed into a genuine community of online learners, where the lecturers engaged with you and were interested in supporting you to be the best you could be. I visited a couple of times, and my daughter ended up going to Derby, so I saw the University accommodation as well and was genuinely impressed. All in all, I would thoroughly recommend this University to consider. They genuinely care!

University of Derby is a fantastic place to learn, the classrooms and labs are great with technology up to date and plenty of supplies, and the teachers are approachable and patient.
I love my choice to study Earth Sciences; it is very interesting and we have a lot of practical sessions and trips planned throughout the year!
