Our faculty are experts in their fields and active on both sides of the Atlantic. This means you’ll be guided and supervised through your research project by leading practitioners. <br/><br/>**Areas of study**<br/>We welcome research applications focusing on the social and political history of the United States. Much of our research focuses on:<br/><br/><br/>- US race relations from slavery to civil rights, the Black Power movement and Black Lives Matter<br/><br/><br/>- the Cold War and transnationalism after World War II<br/><br/><br/>- transnational race relations<br/><br/><br/>- the Civil War era<br/><br/><br/>- the history of American racial violence.<br/><br/><br/>We understand that deciding where and what to study is a very important decision. We’ll make all reasonable efforts to provide you with the courses, services and facilities described in this prospectus.
